Precept is a research portal for Curaçao law, built by Galvan Intelligence. It works from official texts only.
A Curaçao law is rarely one document. There is the original publication in the gazette, and every amendment that followed it.
Precept gives each law one entry, with its newest official text and its amendments listed underneath. Open any amendment to see which laws it touches and how the law changed over time.
When you need an answer rather than a text, you ask. Precept looks the law up itself, reads the articles that matter and answers with the article each statement rests on. It can draw the structure it is describing, from a company up to its ultimate owner, with the sources beside it.

Atlas: how Curaçao laws connect, from the government's own gazette index. The sidebar holds Ask, the Library and Legal history.
The newest official text of each law, with its amendments listed. Amendments are listed under it, never merged into it.
Which publications amend which, read from the Klapper, the government's own index of the gazette. Nothing here is generated.
The life of a law in order, from its publication through each change after it.
Questions typed or spoken. Answers cite the article, and can come with a structure diagram, a chart or the steps of a calculation.
Ask is an agent: the model decides what to look up, and Precept does the looking. These are the steps it takes on a question.
Step 01 of 05
Typed or spoken, in Papiamentu, Dutch or English.
Type the question, or speak it: voice goes through Orea, our Papiamentu speech model. A question in Papiamentu is answered in English for now.
So You ask the way you would ask a colleague, in the language you think in.
Step 02 of 05
Five official Curaçao sources. Firm compilations are never used.
So Whatever it tells you can be traced to a text the government published.
Step 03 of 05
It opens the article itself and checks the law's status and history.
So An answer about a law that was amended knows that it was amended.
Step 04 of 05
Rates and tax through a structure come from code, never the model.
So The model writes the sentences. It never does the arithmetic.
Step 05 of 05
Each statement carries its article, with the structure drawn beside it.
So You can check each line before you put it in front of anyone else.
Official texts only. And the model never computes.
Law statements come from texts the government published. Numbers come from code. The model's job is to find, read and explain, and every answer shows you what it used. These are the uses Precept is built around.
See what an ordinance says today and which amendments changed it, before you write the memo.
Ask how a structure is taxed and see it drawn from the company up to its ultimate owner, with every rate cited.
Trace a law through the gazette, and see on the map which later publications touch it.
Ask by voice in Papiamentu and get a cited answer back, without translating the question first.
Six lines Precept keeps, on purpose.
Precept explains what the law says and shows where it says it. A decision about your situation belongs with an adviser who answers for it.
Firm compilations and commentary stay out, even when they would be more convenient. Where no official consolidated text is online, as with the current profit tax and income tax ordinances, Precept works from the official texts it has and says what is missing.
Amendments are listed and linked. Precept never merges them into a text, so the text you read is the text that was published.
Aruba, Sint Maarten and the BES islands are not included.
You can ask in Papiamentu, by voice or typed. The answer comes back in English at this stage.
The timeline and the map are built from the gazette index. A change that is missing there is missing here too.
Precept runs and is used by our own team. Each part below carries its real status.
